Pine Needle Cove

Oodles of timeless character along with more storage and added functionality were at the top of our client’s wish list for her new kitchen. She had a clear sense of style desiring warm woods, shaded whites and dark counter tops. Increased, hardworking storage was a must for this extremely organized lady and her busy family. The pantry closet was a key player in the kitchen, but it was calling for an overhaul. We replaced it with a beautiful natural walnut hutch that creates a statement in the space while organizing food items and serving as a buffet area. Open shelves for pretty, everyday dishes and glasses near the dishwasher were requested for ease of use. This open, painted to-the-counter cabinet features contrasting natural walnut shelves and a charming little drawer. The apron sink with a classic bridge faucet sits under the double window which provides enjoyment from the serene view outside. The window boasts a hand blocked fabric shade in an indigo pomegranate print. The custom range hood is understated with a natural walnut accent nodding to the hutch across from it. The original kitchen had a peninsula which we removed in order to incorporate an island. This improved the flow of the space and gave us the opportunity to attach a super cute walnut with sapwood butcher block mini-island with a drawer, open shelf and turned legs. Other in-cabinet accessories include a pull-out double trash, tray dividers, cutlery dividers and a knife block, all conveniently located. Distressed soapstone was chosen for the counter tops and backsplashes. It was important to tie in the adjacent family room and dining area with cohesive finishes. An open wall across from the dining table was the perfect opportunity to add significant, good-looking storage, including wine organization, while bringing all the spaces together. Stunning light fixtures and various dark bronze hardware are the finishing touches to this lovely, family friendly gathering space.
