Riverbend Guest House

Peacocks in Blue – Staging photo shoots can be challenging. Not so when your client is an educated collector of fabulous accessories and art! We grabbed these whimsical brass peacocks from her stash at the last minute, plopped them on the island and began snapping away. We hope you agree that they look quite dapper in their new, soft blue surroundings. Our client’s goals were to incorporate timeless, elegant details with sensible functionality for this guest house kitchen. With the help of our favorite interior designer, Lisa Abdalla, the kitchen came together beautifully. The perfect blue cabinetry color with classic, traditional style was the inspiration that guided us through the design process. Bianco Avion marble tops the cabinetry and compliments the lovely backsplash while brass accents add warm touches. The handsome hutch is done in rift cut white oak with a wire brush finish. The island offers cozy seating. The functional layout would please any cook. We would love to be guests in this guest house, how about you?

Green with Character – Our team has had the pleasure of working with this client on several projects over many years. She brings timeless flair and sophistication to every space through her constant research of everything related to interiors. This time, she brought her daughter into the mix and really stirred things up! The daughter’s desire for color, character and fun shaped this kitchen in all the best ways. The combination of natural soapstone, rustic wood and green cabinetry speaks to the natural surroundings of this beautiful home. The handmade soapstone sink is a work of art. The two-tone island boasts X details, one of the daughter’s favorite aspects of the kitchen. Black hardware, lighting and counter stools balance the dramatic darkness of the countertops. Plenty of floating shelving allows easy access to dishes and glasses as well as opportunity to display paintings, plants and other pieces that inspire. Moral of the story: listen to your kids!
